I am having so much fun planning our 2nd Annual Upholstery Meet-Up
Last year I took a gamble on our upholstery community and put out feelers to vendors and upholsterers seeing who would be interested in attending a meet-up. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the response I received. Not only were fellow upholsterers willing to put their trust in me and join this new adventure, but the vendor response was also overwhelming.
First Annual Upholstery Meet-Up was a Success!!
Within no time I had 4 vendors willing to host our group. We had 25 sign up for the meetup… wow! I was ecstatic with that number for a first-ever meetup. As things go 7 people had events arise and were unable to join us. Ok, 18 was a good number too. Everyone began arriving on Sunday evening with no specific expectations and just wanting to meet fellow upholsterers and with faith in me that I would show them a good time… TALK ABOUT PRESSURE. Well, I am happy to say that our FIRST Annual Upholstery Meet-Up was such a success that we are doing this again.
Our 2nd Annual Upholstery Meet-Up has shaped up rather nicely
We have 4 Vendor tours taking place over 3 days as well as an Evening Cocktail Meet and Greet with two additional vendors and a couple of guest speakers for our 2nd Annual Upholstery Meet-Up. Join us in Gastonia, NC, for a fun-filled 3-day Upholstery Meetup July 31 – August 2, 2019!
As upholsterers, most of us work alone. As an educator, I see the need for networking with our peers. Members of our upholstery community have the ability to meet their peers through our Annual Upholstery Meetups. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about new vendors and new products in the industry.
The Meetup offers a bit of education, a lot of networking and a TON of FUN.
There is no cost to attend this event. Just pay for your own expenses.
Through Crypton Fabrics, we are excited to offer a discounted block of rooms at the Courtyard Marriott in Gastonia, NC.

Crypton Fabrics
In 1993, Craig and Randy Rubin hatched an ingenious plan from the basement of their Michigan home. The super duo wanted a fabric that could stand up to life’s messes and still be touchable and beautiful, a fabric that would change the way many people live their lives.
Today, Crypton® sells a wide range of products worldwide that make life easier and continue to exceed expectations. We are more than a fabric company. We invent, patent and brand the most reliable, environmentally friendly, high-performance textiles in the world.
Our products are not only soft and beautiful but are also designed to perform and have varying levels of protection depending on where they will be used. In situations where heavy demands can be placed on the fabric, Crypton offers superior performance with exceptional protection from stains, moisture, and odors.

Created by Upholsterers for Upholsterers
We believe that skilled upholstery has continued relevance in the U.S. We see upholsterers as artists, as entrepreneurs, as historians, as champions for sustainability.
We believe there is work to be done, and we believe there are smart, determined people excited to do it. And we believe that individuals can accomplish far more when they’re connected, supported and working together… instead of struggling in isolation.
