What’s an upholstery workshop all about you ask?
Fun and learning with a small group of other Upholstery Addicts! My 3 Day Small Chair Workshops are limited to 6 students. We start from bare bones and build your project back up so leave with a piece that will make you proud as a peacock!
Tear down of the frame is done prior to the workshop date. This way you have a feel for what is involved in the upholstery of the piece and you can concentrate on learning those hands on skills. Working with a small group of 6 and limiting the project complexity allows me to give you the one on one time you need to absorb the new skill set you will be learning. We all learn and retain more by doing. Even though our days are full and face paced you will be enjoying the conversations with others that share your love for upholstery. We gather together during lunch and chat about what we’ve accomplished that morning. At the end of the day we often share more conversation over a relaxing dinner at a local restaurant before retiring for the evening. Many long lasting relationships comes out of these events as well. So don’t just take my word for it, read testimonials from another student.

“The three day upholstery workshop I took with Kim from Kim’s Upholstery was fabulous! I found Kim to be energetic and knowledgeable. The class was composed of five women with five different chairs. This did not phase Kim in the least. She was able to transition from assisting on attendee to another with ease and made it seem effortless. I am very happy with my finished chair and feel confident in attempting to upholster another chair after taking this class. I know she is an email or blab session away if I have any questions. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in upholstering, beginner or intermediate. Attendees learned from Kim and the diversity of each chair being upholstered.”
So check out the list of upcoming workshops and pick the one that works best for you. Remember there is only room for 6 so don’t wait too long to ensure your spot!
Is love to take your workshop great idea but I’m in Ontario Canada
Hi Deborah, I would love to have you join me one day. I am going to be in Rochester NY and Dayton Maine this year. A visit to the states could be fun!
