If you are considering a built-in banquette for your home, there are a few things to pre plan.
• Will the banquette be upholstered?
• Will you use loose seat and back cushions?
• Will it be mainly decorative wood?

Upholstered Banquette

After deciding what you want the end product to be you should arrange a meeting with your carpenter, and if it is to be upholstered include your upholsterer. We have done a number of upholstered banquette’s and have found some common problems that could have been avoided with some pre planning.
• Hight………………. When setting the seat hight, don’t forget to add the hight of the seat cushion.
• Depth……………… Seat backs take up space so make sure your seat is deep enough to accommodate for the thickness back.
• Reveal……………. Anything you want to show off?
• Decorative Cap… Does your upholstery need to fit in under a cap strip of some sort?
• Upholstery………..How will everything be attached?
Avoid the headache and probably save yourself some money by pre-planning your project.
