In this video, you will learn how to upholster a twin sized headboard with a curved top. I will also share my technique to adding a boxed style banding detail to the top of your headboard using a decorative trim cord for a contrast accent. This video does not include building the headboard and assumes you have basic knowledge of sewing.
Lumber:(The construction is not part of this video)
¼” or ½” plywood or luan (underlayment)
2” X 4” for legs
1 X 1 5/8” pine board (this is not a standard board size so you will have to rip a larger board down)
Fasteners:
1″brads, nails, or wood screws (whatever you are comfortable working with)
wood glue

1 oz Dacron
1/2″ and 9/16″ Staples
1/2″ Cardboard tack strip
Curve Ease
Metal Tack Strips
Lining
Main Fabric 3.5 yards
Decorative trim 4.5 yards
