DIY Ottoman Upholstery Project

Overview

In this Ottoman Tutorial you will learn how to put together the ottoman frame as well as the steps involved in upholstering.

This ottoman includes using jute webbing and burlap as your support system. I will show you how to pad the ottoman project using a high density foam and bonded Dacron. We will go through attaching your main fabric piece and how to get nice clean corners. Our next step in this tutorial will include sewing your cording, attaching the contrast cording, an unexpected decorative detailing using a pom pom trim, attaching the lower boxing strip to get a clean crisp finish and lastly adding a 6/32″ cording to the bottom of the frame before closing the bottom with a cambric dust cover. Knowing the steps to create a professional looking ottoman will give you the courage to tackle your next piece.

The frame you see in this video is purchased from Chervan, www.chervan.com.
