I saw these two Coronas for the first time at the Northeast New England Drapery and Design Showcase, put on by the Northeast New England chapter of the WCAA. The event was held at the Westford Regency in Westford MA.. There were many great vendors there but I was really impressed with the look and feel of the Coronas. I bought a wooden bed some time ago and wanted to use it for display at our studio. The corona was just the ticket to get me started on the project. I cleaned and repaired the bed frame then gave it a coat of black paint. Once that was dry I drybrushed on the gold paint.
The areas not painted will, hopefully, get a Zebra fabric. The bed side frames will be shortened to 3 or 4 feet for display then the bed coverings will be added, probably a duvet cover and bed skirt. The Bordeaux Corona, part#P5631 from TMS inc/ Menagerie will be mounted high above the bed using the handy looking mount band that comes with the corona. Don’t know what the fabrics going up to the corona will be yet. Suggestions are welcome. I’m sure Kim has something in mind.
