Learn How to Make Cushions for a Morris Chair

In this video, I will teach you how to get the measurements for your foam from the chair, determine the fabric cuts for a boxed seat cushion, calculate fabric cuts for the back cushion with Turkish corners.  You will also learn how to sew both a boxed seat cushion with a zipper and turkish corner back cushion with a zipper.  We will also cover adding Dacron to your high-density seat foam and softer back foam.

You will also learn how to construct the zippers, attach cording and boxing.

  • 54″ W Decorator/Upholstery Fabric(yardage will depend on your piece)
  • 5/32″ Fiber Flex Welt Cord
  • High Density Foam for Seat Cushion
  • Soft Back Foam for Back Cushion
  • 69 Bonded Nylon Thread
  • 1 oz. Bonded Dacron
  • Spray Foam Adhesive
  • #5 Nylon Zipper and Pull (one for each cushion)

  • Electric Carving Knife or Foam Cutter
  • Scissors
